Willem-Alexander, the King of the Netherlands, visited Estonia in the beginning of June 2018. King Willem-Alexander visited Estonia and the other Baltic states as they celebrated the 100th anniversary of their independence. Willem-Alexander visited Estonia for the second time, the previous visit was 16 years ago and focused on IT cooperation.
Minister of Entrepreneurship and IT Urve Palo also met the King and introduced him the e-state accomplishments of Estonia.
The meeting took place in the e-Estonia showroom where demonstrations on the past and future of the Estonian e-state were conducted. E-residence, the future of e-health and the Estonian cyberspace were introduced to the King. Together, it was found that the Netherlands and Estonia, as the two leading European countries, should also cooperate more bilaterally.
